Cornville is settled in the Verde Valley of Northern Arizona. The Verde Valley consists of Camp Verde, Cottonwood, Cornville, Rim Rock, Sedona, Village of Oak Creek, Clarkdale and Jerome. These small towns have a lot of sights to see between the eight of them.

Take a drive to see the magnificant Red Rocks of Sedona, take a carriage ride in the old mining town of Jerome or ride the Verde Valley Railway that travels along the Verde River. With so much to see and do you'll never want to leave.

In the mid 1800's, the settlement and Post Office near the mouth of Oak Creek was first called the "Pitchner Place". At a meeting of pioneers in the Verde Valley, it was their intention to name the settlement "Cohenville". They sent in the name to Washington. When they received the papers back, Washington had read it "Cornville". The settlers accepted the name and it's been Cornville, Arizona ever since.
