Pleasant Valley
The History of Young, Arizona

Young is known for it's history. Young began as a cattle community that started in the 1800's. Originally Pleasant Valley, Young is known for it's famous "Pleasant Valley War," which lasted approx. 12 years.

Also known for the Pleasant Valley War, a family feud between the Graham's and the Tewksbury's. Some say the war lasted 5 years, other's say 15. Either way it was a brutal war. For more information please go to www.youngaz.com - Under "Pleasant Valley History."

Pleasant Valley became "Young" after having it's first postmaster, Miss Ola Young, who served fifty years.
